Jeff dedicates his time to environmental and educational organizations. He currently serves as President of the Greater Farallones Association, which supports research, conservation and education programs in the offshore and estuarine waters of National Marine Sanctuaries along the Northern California coast.
He is active in fundraising, community organizing and project oversight for water-centric restoration efforts in Northern California, and is experienced working closely with local government agencies through his roles with the Bolinas Lagoon Advisory Council, Coastal Communities Working Group, and Alliance of Coastal Marin Villages in Marin County.
Jeff founded successful software startup firms in the 90s, followed by a seven year career as a venture capitalist, during which time he served on multiple boards. Jeff obtained his masters in Computer Science and bachelors in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University.
