This Giving Tuesday, your new or increased investment in Sustainable Conservation can go twice as far to scale groundwater recharge, advance sustainable agriculture, and drive natural resource policy solutions.
What makes our organization uniquely suited to creating sustainable change across the state? I’m glad you asked!
We’re incessant collaborators and intentional listeners, so we strive to identify gaps that prevent would-be solutions from being researched, adopted, scaled, or incentivized. For example, we might not be picking up shovels to restore a local creek, but we’ll work tirelessly to improve the permitting process for those who are!
If you haven’t yet made a gift to Sustainable Conservation this year, Giving Tuesday is the perfect time to join us. All new and increased gifts will be matched by long-time donor Michael Spiegelman.
From helping farmers capture stormwater to replenish groundwater, to simplifying restoration permits so rivers can flow freely for fish and wildlife, our work connects people and ecosystems through shared water solutions. We’re partnering with growers to improve soil health and water resilience while designing recharge projects and long-term plans that protect communities from floods and drought. These outcomes are woven together by a commitment to listen, innovate, and act collectively for equitable access to and benefits from water resources.

When you invest in Sustainable Conservation, you’re fueling a statewide movement where farmers, scientists, policymakers, and community leaders co-create solutions that last, because California can only achieve climate resilience when everyone has a seat at the table. Your support has grown our programs, scaled our solutions, and lifted our organization to its strongest point yet. A gift this Giving Tuesday will keep our momentum rolling!
We’re proud of all that we accomplished this year, but we also know we can’t do it alone. Thanks for supporting us at every step of the solution-finding process and affirming our belief that a climate-resilient California can only be achieved by working with, not against, each other.
Thank you,

Ashley Boren
Chief Executive Officer, Sustainable Conservation
PS: As I transition my role of CEO to Dr. Josette Lewis at the end of this year, we hope you’ll choose to recommit and reinvest in Sustainable Conservation to build a bridge to a new era of conservation.
